Cool 2016.5 CX-5 AC is blowing cool air and briefly warm air

Hi everyone, new to the forums. Just recently I started experiencing a glitch (or something) with my air conditioning unit in my 2016.5 Mazda CX-5. It goes from working normal (blowing cold air) to just blowing air (not cold) for about 2 or 3 seconds and then it goes back to working normal again. One day it did it 3 or 4 different times and the warm air lasted anywhere from 2 to 10 seconds, before going back to normal. I used the car yesterday and it didn't do it at all. I'm starting to think that something is about to go bad and wouldn't like to be stock with no cold air. My a/c system is not dual temp. control, just single temp. control. Could it be the actuator or is it more probable to be the blend door motor? Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions? I'll really appreciate your feedback.

I have similar issue with my cx5 2016.5. AC is running but sometimes it blows hot air and sometimes it blows cold air on my feet for 2 seconds. Its annoying i keep on turning on and off the Ac just to have cold air. It happens randomly when I drive in the afternoon at 40c outside temperature. Hopefully someone will share similar experience and possible solution.

When AC is set to auto it try to keep set point, it sometimes blows hot air and sometimes it blows cold air , thats normal.
To avoid this, set AC to manuel.

It is strange that we will need to set the Ac to manual for it to work properly. My experience is that after initial start up it would be cold then warm then cold then warm and then after a while maybe 30 mins into the drive it would be cold. After that it works fine? has anybody idea why this is the case?

As BWJ said, the CX-5 cabin temperature will fluctuate depending on the outside temp and if your AC is on auto it will compensate by heating or cooling to maintain your set temperature.
If you use the AC in manual mode it will cool only, it will not heat, much like how a home AC unit operates.

I know I am will see a negative response (and prepared for it ) but this thread reads like owners not reading completely their owners manual.

I just had a customer pull into the shop literally in a panic. After she came from grocery shopping she said an alarm went off after she started the engine. So because she is a frequent customer and 3 minutes from the shope she drove straight here.
She was worried that she had done some unknown damage to her car.

I grabbed my scanner and we went out to the check things out. I saw right off what had happened. So I had my "spare guy" give her car a wash and vacuum the interior and check all the fluid and tire psi on the house.
Before she left I told suggested to her next time put the groceries in the truck not on the front passenger seat .

I got her owners manual in the glove box and I pointed to the section about seat belts. I noticed that the seal was still on the packet with all her warranty and battery and tire information and that the owners manual had NEVER been opened and I asked her why she had not read it when she bought her new car. She replied why do I need to bother with that you have always taken care of my cars .

You should take that as a compliment.
