2014 CX 5 Touring AWD Tx to Ak with Casita travel trailer
Headed to Alaska from Texas in July with my 16' Casita travel trailer behind my 14 Mazda CX 5 AWD.
Have made several other trips to to Utah and Big Bend National park with this set up. I get 18 to 20.5 miles per gallon towing the trailer.
I have even driven all of Black Gap road in Big Bend NP with the CX 5 , Its performance was rather exceptional and I recorded the whole drive on a Go Pro.
Just sharing the capabilities of my Mazda.

No tranny cooler
Have not had any indication that one is necessary.
Utah trip was in July of 14
Pulled mountain grades without issue or slow down.
Actually would pull away from larger unloaded pickups on incline.
