I had this van for almost 2 years and everything was going well but started having problems with the maf sensor I replaced it 2 times and ran good...about two weeks now I'm having problems again it was running good then out of nowhere it didn't turn on I changed spark plugs thinking it was that but nothing, then a mechanic said it was the gas pump changed and nothing, then another said it was the ignition coil so I replaced (Ignition coils, MAF sensor, Crankshaft sensor and new gas pump) but it still does the same thing I started then dies the only way I can keep it on is if I hit gas a little then stays on but if I don't it dies...any suggestions
tried everything advised given now it shows system too lean bank 1 and after I replaced brand new original part from Mazda the MAF sensor it says replaced it it's crazy but is frustrating...it starts but it feels like trying to shut down but it doesn't can't figure out what's going on.
Is the engine mis-fireing at a low idle causing it to die? Have a mechanic check your fuel injectors with a "noid" light. This will indicate if they are being fired by the ECU. If that passes, check each injector for fuel atomization (spray). Might just be a bad injector.
Dies like in sputters out, or like you shut off the key?
Can you make it keep it idling by feathering the throttle?
Can you drive the car? How does it act?
Scan and/or freeze frame data would be very handy, or basic manual tests (spark, fuel, air), otherwise it's guessing and the part cannon.
If just an idling issue, then check the throttle body for gunk build up around the throttle plate.
Check for cracks in the corrugated duct between air cleaner and throttle body.
Check PCV valve (you have to remove the intake duct for that).
Check the valve cover fresh air hose (near the MAF sensor on the throttle body).
Check vacuum hoses. Pinch them off briefly to see of idle or drivability improves.
It dies like shaking and also if you turn key off but now when trying to start and hit gas i won't stay on like if no gas was filtering and when let go it shuts down and also alot of smoke come out thru the air filter and haven't checked the pcv...
