Default '18 CX-5 GT Hot Dashboard

Hi Everyone!
I've been lurking here while I was deciding on which car to buy. Thanks to everyone with their insights. You were all really helpful and influential in my decision to purchase a CX-5.

I recently picked up a '18 CX-5 GT Deep Crystal Blue Mica, black interior. I really love the car so far, but have noticed one thing while driving it. The top of the dashboard console seems to retain and radiate a lot of heat. Has anyone noticed this too? The dash seems to direct this incredible heat wave towards your head and directing the vents can't seem to overcome it.

I'm just wondering if anyone noticed this and if there's anything you might recommend to coat the dash with so that its not absorbing/radiating this heat.
Thanks again for all of your help. I'm a happy new first time Mazda owner.

Dark surfaces get hot. I would get a folding windshield sun screen that reflects the heat.

Where do you live?

This can happen if you car sits for an extended period directly in the sun. Definitely get the sunshades for your windscreen when the car is parked.

Also invest in a dash mat.
