Transfer case fill bolt blockage fixed on 2024 CX-30
I have a 2024 CX-30, and the front transfer case fill plug blockage issue is FIXED. There is a cutout for the plug to come out without interference. Just FYI.
This could have been more helpful a thread to members if you had stated and shown the before pictures and or relevant service information from Mazda.
I had to call my contact at Mazda service and ask them as we have not seen this yet in our shop but **technically speaking a 2024 is for the most part still under most owners WARRANTY.
Thanks for your understanding!

Sorry I don't understand what I did wrong. I don't have before pictures. I also didn't copy anything, these are pictures I took myself, of my own car. Not sure what warranty has anything to do with it. Yes, I am a one sentence kinda guy, unless I need to expand on something, but in this case, the pictures should suffice.

You did nothing wrong as a service Tech among other attributes I was interested in this thread and knew what you were trying to convey.
So let me expand what I know now. On some model and a few years of productions Mazda's the use of a normal fastener was secured in that location and blocked easy access to the fill fastener. So, there is a factory bolt like you pictured specifically design and used at that location to allow free access to the drain and fill Fastner of the transfer case. For the sake of not getting into a debate I can't remember the last time I physically changed the fluid in any transfer case and often assign that to my Techs or just a mechanic as it is a no brainer service. I never had any of them come to me and state they could not access the drain bolt. But asking my lead Tech he said he has had a couple times but it is still no problem just takes and extra 10 minutes of work and that special fastener is not necessarily needed if you know what you are doing. So based on your thread and my dudiligence to find more info I just order a few to have in stock for the future should a customers have a Mazda of several years needing that special fastener.

No worries. I figured that those who know, know. Those who don't, either are not affected, or not worried about it.
Most older CX-30 had a bracket blocking the removal of the fill bolt. A lot of people wanted confirmation that the issue is fixed in more recent models. I just found out that 2024 MY is now fixed, so I posted about it.

I have a 2021 CX-5 and a 2024 CX-30, so not sure which other car you're referring to. Unless you mean my 3 year old's Lamborghini Sian ride-on car with a 3MPH top speed. That car turns heads!
Nice collection of cars you've had! My notable previous cars were an 01 Prelude and a 16 Golf R. Nothing too crazy, and not as cool as a 911. Maybe one day, when I won't need back seat space for a car seat.
Sorry for the mix up and my not paying closer attention to the username. I went back and cleaned up my responses more fitting for a good contributing member that you are.
Actually, if someone here isn't already aware, this issue has NOT been fixed on the 2024 NA CX-30. It is only the turbos that do not have this issue. At least it wasn't corrected on my 2024 CX-30.

Interesting first response as a new member???
There is no documentation from Mazda one way or the other. (there may have been a TSB but I causally looked and found none)!
Its not an issue for one thing that would be a problem this is more of a service inconvenience and servicing inconveniences have been on vehicles for decades. It why I get the $$$ to do servicing even with them.
