Mazda Financia Services
My lease on my CX-30 was due to expire July 28. When I saw the current used car prices for a 2020 CX-30 Premium, and compared those to the buyout price on my lease, it was a no brainer to purchase the vehicle.
So I sent 2 checks and all the paper work to Mazda Financial Services, NY, one check to Mazda Financial services, the other to the Clerk of Courts for taxes and title.. I didn't notice that I had to sign the Clerk check so they sent it back. I signed it and sent it back. USPS managed to lose that check, so after waiting 2 weeks and no delivery, I had that check stopped and another made out and sent. That check arrived at NY. I called on July 6 (2 days before I left for a trip overseas) to see if they had everything and that I was fine and the title would be forthcoming. Whoever I talked to said "yes, go on your trip.'
When I returned on July 20 I had a bill from Mazda for the last lease payment, which was included in the Mazda check I had already sent. So I called them. I was told they had no record of any checks from me. They had somehow lost everything, checks and paperwork. So I put a stop on those 2 checks ($30 each to stop a check), had 2 new checks made out and sent them Priority Mail on Friday, July 22. I call them on Monday and am now told that those 2 new checks are for the wrong amount. So once again, I stop payment on those 2 checks and issue two new ones for the correct amount. I FedEx them along with the new paper work which I filled out with the help of someone at Mazda. She and I walked through each page, just to make sure I had everything correct.
I track those and call 2 days later to make sure the title process has started, only to find out that one page of the 5 is incorrect, even though someone from Mazda and I walked through each step when I filled those out. So now I have to fill out another set of forms and FedEx them back.
This has been an absolute Nightmare.
If you are going to purchase your vehicle at the end of your lease, be prepared.
