Cylinder Deactivation
#5
Ah. I believe the CD is only on front wheel drive. I don't think they put it on AWD.
My 2020 is front wheel drive and I hate CD. It only kicks in on flat straight stretches when you are doing mid 50 mph, which I drive daily. You can feel when it kicks in, like a shift in gears, and then the whole car has a slight vibration, until it kicks out again. It continually goes in and out and you can feel it every time. It sucks. The engineer who devised this needs to be fired. To think a 4,000 vehicle could smoothly run down the highway on 2 cylinders???

I've a 2WD version but considering that the mazda are AWD and not 4WD, i think that it is avalilable on AWD too.
The cylinders are being deactivated when the engine not needs power. If the engine not needs powers, I think that it not needs 4-wheel drive too.
