Hi. I got a notification on my MyMazda App that 2021 Mazda3 with 2.5L Turbo is coming late 2020. I hope 2021 CX-30 will sport one, t00. I hate the CD in the non-turbo.

I like turbo engines and have one in my VW Golf and think it would really pair well with both the Mazda 3 and the CX-30. On the other hand, I do not hate the CD in our non-turbo CX-5. On the contrary, I get pretty good MPG values in both city and highway compared to our previous vehicle which was a VW Tiguan with a 2.0 turbo engine.
Yeah, you can say goodbye to that good mileage if you get a turbo unless you drive it VERY conservatively. (Fat chance with all that power.;o)
I know whereof I speak having a 2019 MAZDA CX 5 GT Reserve 2.5 L. turbo with AWD. Very quick and lots of fun with great handling and steering feel. But it's hard to stay off the "Fun Pedal".
And I love spanking Audi Q3 SUV's. The "Q" in Q3 does not stand for Quick. Jus' sayin'...

I bought a 2021 Mazda CX 30 AWD 2.5 Turbo about 3 weeks ago...i average about 9.4 L/100kilometars in city driving. Now, i do like to drive quicker but i do not floor it at every light.
What is your mpg comparison between the two vehicles? I ask as i just spent 9k miles driving a tiguan se and avg 28mpg, a lot od it 80+ mph in very hilly areas.
Hey "mazda_nc_dude", If there are any filling stations near you that sell 100 octane "racing gas" try filling up with 1/4 tank of 100 octane, of even better 1/3 tanks of 100 octane and the balance with 91 to 95 octane premium gas. You WILL find another 10 HP minimum. Fun but 'spensive! I do it here in the Las Vegas area. MAZDA seems to have made their fuel map so it is able to actually utilize much higher octane gas. Unlike many turbo vehicles you really do see an improvement in power in turbo MAZDAs with very hight octane gas.
I've also added a CORK Sport downpipe for improved throttle response. Not much room to work in that confined space so it may take an hour to remove the OEM pipe and install the stiffer CorkSport pipe and its aircraft style hose clamps. WEAR GLOVES to protect your hands. Otherwise prepare for many scratches.
Finally I installed a drop-in K&N air filter for a couple more HP (according to tests run on "Engineering Explained"TY article on air filters).

For my general "running around" driving I get about 21 mpg. On the road I get 26 to 27 mpg with the Turbo engine. I think it has a lot to do with whether you are jumping on the throttle a lot or not. BTW, I have had a number of Turbo cars, and this is consistent with my past experience.
