Mazda BT 50 & Pickup TrucksWhile Mazda may not be known for their trucks, they have always produced quality reliable trucks for both hauling cargo, or simply crusing. BT 50
This truck is stored in Baton Rouge until I return.
I received a call the other day telling me that a person wants to buy it.
I told him $3k and he said yes. I guess I'll be flying to BR to sell it.
We'll see how that goes.
If I do sell, I have several more Mazdas/Courier to work on.
More pix and how this works out soon.
Haven't been on for a while.
I did fly to Baton Rouge and sold the truck. $3,000.
I lost some $$ on it, but I have one less vehicle of way too many.
I am back in California and found an '81 Ford Courier long bed 5 speed. I am pretty sure it has the Ford 2.3 (4) banger in it.
I just responded to the ad, so I hope to look at it in the next few days.
The owner says it's not running, so I will have to determine if it's terminal or repairable.
This will be the second Courier that I may own - if I buy it.
Stay tuned for the next project.
Maybe.
I'm back in California.
I have been watching CL and facebook market for another Mazda PU. There were 2, one was junk the other sold the same day.
I've been looking for 5 weeks now...
I don't see many around here any more.
Well, I didn't find another Mazda, but this is a lot weirder and rare.
I looked at a few Jaguars, a Lexus coupe (JUNK), lost out on a beautiful El Camino, and saw plenty of overpriced crap.
It's a 1979 Dodge D50 - which is really a Mitsubishi pickup. It's the predecessor to the Mighty Max.
I'm the third owner, and yes... that is original paint. Almost everything on the truck is original.
I installed the wheels/tires and the headlights (LED)
The original wheels were 14" and I went to 16" from an Isuzu Trooper. The tires are Z rated.
The body has some minor nicks/dings, but overall it's very nice.
Thought I'd update this thread.
When I return home, I'll post pix of my other Mazdas.

Nice truck. Does it have a tailgate? CA blue plates are very cool. I had a 1979 Mazda GLC with CA blue plates once. Definitely similar era of car with that D50 just from the looks alone.
Great project!!
There are so many things that are now improved in pickup industries. Among all pickups modifications findings, 2.3% are equipped with front-wheel drive.
The truck's engine has an average capacity of around 4000 ccs.
Diesel trucks are one and a half times more economical than petrol ones.
