Default mazda b2600i pickup

i bought a 2600i from my father with .around 175000 miles soon after i lost head gasket and head.had my fathers brother rebuild top end with a new head--timingchain etc.its been 2 yrs and for some time it has lost alittle water then it began drowning out plugs.i took it on myself to remove the head this weed only to find sll the head bolts were only hand tight head gasket didnt even look bad.dont know what to make of all this.i am wondering if i clean everything and replace with a new headgasketand torque it down right or should i take the head to a shop to check everything out.any ideas would be great.

Definitely start with a new head gasket and proper torquing. Torque again after it's been run and warmed up several times. And change the oil and filter in case any coolant has entered the crankcase - antifreeze will tear out bearings in a hurry.
