Mazda BT 50 & Pickup TrucksWhile Mazda may not be known for their trucks, they have always produced quality reliable trucks for both hauling cargo, or simply crusing. BT 50
Name of the ignition part that mounts on the distributor that is approximately 1/2" X 1/2" with a little black wire attached to it? The wire then connects to the coil. The wire broke off the little block. My truck is now running rough. Thanks
He's talking about this square thing in this picture just to the left and above the distributor vacuum advance. I'm not sure what it's called. The black wire leads to the coil like he said.
Here's another pic of it (from a different truck).

That's a capacitor/condenser; folks have used ECH RC111 or FA83 or P13045 from NAPA
I have such aftermarket condenser on my own B2200. If your black rectangular condenser still has a wire nub sticking out, solder a new wire onto that.
I believe this is mostly for reducing radio static.

Just to update on the little black wire to the little black box. The truck still runs rough. It will run a little better when you give it gas, but it is so weak. It sounds like the valves are rattling. While the truck was idling the end of the little black wire touched the distributor and killed the engine. I guess it blew a fuse. Only the dome light & horn work. The ignition part will not come on when you turn the key.
