maybe clutch or maybe not?
Hello I have a 1992 Mazda, B2200, 5 speed, with 2.2.L enging and 220,00 miles. Just recently I have notice some slight difficulty shifting into first or into reverse. I can still engage into the gears but there is like a bit rough shift. I sometimes have to play the clutch from neutral to gear until it engages smoothly. I am thinking that is possible that the clutch or one of its components are going bad. I still have the original clutch from when i first bought it so I am thinking that maybe the problem but I am not sure. I just hope it is not the transmission going bad. Shifting into the other gears is not problems especially if the truck has been driven for a while. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Mr M. These trucks have a few weak areas as they age, including fuel sending units, ignition switches, and the clutch hydraulic parts. My guess is that either your clutch master cylinder and/or clutch slave cylinder is leaking a little bit and/or has some air in the system. You can try adding a little fluid and bleeding the clutch slave cylinder, to see if that helps. You may be looking at replacements for those, a pretty straightforward job.
I've had to replace all the previously-listed items on my 1988 B2200 which I've had for 16 years (several times on the clutch hydraulics, have lifetime-warranties on those).
