Default Location to perform an engine Diagnostic

dear experts,

I have a 2003 Mazda B-Series 2.5litre Diesel pick up. I am based Ireland. So its a european model.

Where is the location for plugging in a obd reader so I can do a diagnostic check on the engine?

In Ireland the driver's side is on the right hand side of the vehicle. Normally (in cars here) it can be found on the right side near the throttle. I also checked behind the ash tray for the 16-pin connector.

I found the ECU on the right hand side of the crew cab but no place for a connector!

if anyone knows where i can plug in to do a diagnostic check I would appreciate it.

regards,
Will.

my guess is that being a ford based vehicle (ford ranger over here in north america) that the obd connector would be on the passenger side in your case. the obd is always 99% of the time on the driver side in over here, so my guess would be check your passenger side under the dash.

Dear All,

I found the diagnostic reader finally. it was under the hood on the passenger side and not inside the cab.

below is a link to show where one might find it on their pick up.
