Thumbs down just a shot in the dark here..

i have a 91 b2600i 4wd 5spd i just picked up, needs engine rebuild or replacement, i was told that it threw a rod, haven't confirmed that yet, though. just wondering what the budget-friendliest option would be, don't know much about these trucks so i figured i'd get some educated input.

if it turns out that it would be more cost effective to just replace the eng. i'm wondering if anyone knows of any other USED japanese 4cyl engines that can be used instead of the 2.6 (can't find one anywhere). ANY information i can get would be great.

89-93 b2600
89-94 mpv's with the 2.6.
the only engine that mates with the bellhousing.

has to be the mazda g6 engine. the mitsu engine from 87-88 2600's will fit but are carbed and the engine mounts on the frame need to be changed.

they are getting harder to find, as i just swamped mine last week(took a big gulp of water).found 1 after 3 days searching.just gotta keep an eye open for them sitting around in ppl's yards.
asking them, you never know.
