Help with 81 B2000 2.0l
My son is looking at a 1981 B2000 pick up with the 2.0l engine. We were wondering if there is any way to add power steering to this truck? It would be his first vehicle, and trying to make it as easy as possible to drive. Can't remember exactly if these had the option for it, as well as A/C. Any and all help is appreciated. I understand it's an older truck and parts are scarce
Our temperatures in Arizona range from 35F to 120F (really). I use 10W-40 conventional oil in:
1970 VW Beetle (260+K miles)
1971 VW Beetle convertible (140K)
1988 Mazda B2200 truck (235K)
1998 Nissan Frontier (282K)
2004 Nissan Frontier (118K)

Even if the power steering doesn't work out, the 79-84s aren't really that heavy. As long as you're moving, even just barely, the steering wheel will turn. Least, in my experience.
I do know that some of them came with AC from the factory, cause my 84 with the stock carb has an attachment point for it. I'm sure remanned pumps can be found online.

Complete parts for adding power steering to this will be hard to find.
My two old VWs do not have power steering, and when I had to cut the power steering belt off my '88 B2200 (to do emergency nighttime repair of a broken alternator belt), I didn't feel much difference driving a week with no power steering...
