Mazda BT 50 & Pickup TrucksWhile Mazda may not be known for their trucks, they have always produced quality reliable trucks for both hauling cargo, or simply crusing. BT 50
Oopsey, I guess I did not elaborate what the noise sounded like, or where it was coming from, so sorry about that! It seems to mainly happen when I am shifting gears it makes sort of a clanging sound, that seems to come from somewhere almost directly under the cab of my b2200. I took a look underneath & I could not see anything loose. I'm very mechanically inclined as I learned from a friend how to change my oil on the truck. Any help would be appreciated Cussman.
Also, my truck is real slow. I was told that I could put a hemi on it. Would that be a pretty involved job putting a hemi on my engine, & what all would be involved? Thanks in advance for your help.

You qualify for a mechanic's job at a GM dealership then !!!

First I'd check for broken motor mounts and/or transmission mount. If those are OK, I'd see if the noise was related to pushing in the clutch pedal, check inside the bell housing.
I have also increased the hp of my B2200 as I found a problem. The Weber carb adapter plates were not flat so I pulled them & sanded them down real flat, and used rubber gasketing material along with aviation type gasket sealant. That truck really has a lot of get up and go now, but not as much hp as when I once dropped a LS6 vet motor in it. I pulled that motor back out and put the original 2.2 motor back in, as it got better gas mileage (see my current motor in the attached picture, it's a mean go-getter!)
