Default Electric choke feed

The factory alternator supplies 7v to the choke with engine running. I think I知 going to run an ignition sourced 12v to it so to make sure it opens fully and will less warm up time.

I think I値l tap into the windshield wiper circuit at the wiper motor since the wiper motor is a 12v with key on.

I plan to run an inline fuse but I知 not sure what amp fuse is best. I知 sure 10am would be fine but do you think a lower amp fuse would work just as well? How low could I go in fuse amperage and still have a reliable supply?

Even 5-amp fuse would be plenty. Realize that the wiper circuit would already be fused, so I doubt a separate inline fuse for the choke would be necessary.

One can physically measure the ohms resistance of the choke heater with your multimeter after disconnecting the wire. Then divide 12 (or 14 volts with engine running) by that ohms to see what the working amperage would be, then use a somewhat larger fuse.

I dialed the carb in and gave the 7v alt feed another try. I set the choke a little leaner and everything seems good. Even with the 7v feed, the choke was open and off the high idle step in just under 4 minutes. I think I値l stick with the factory 7v feed for now.
