Does anybody know where the crankshaft sensor is on this truck and if i can test it or not? thanks for any help. dwb

 

It has a pick up coil in the distributor. This is how it gets the engine rotation signal. It is tested using an ohm meter on the two inner terminals. Spec is 900-1200 ohms.

 

Ok. i cant find the ignitor or pick up coil in my haynes manual. i replaced the donut shaped disk in the bottom of the coil with no improvement. which one is the what does the ignitor and pick up coil look like. thanks dwb

 

The filiment on the main feul inj. fuse is unbroken and seems ok. i can hear the relay click when i turn the key on. does this mean it is ok? I tested the 2 inner prongs on the connector that comes out of the front side of the distributor and got 4.5 M ohms. this is what i replaced with the one i got from the junk yard. the orignal one also tests at 4.6 M ohms. does this need replaced with an oem one? Thanks...

 

do you know how to test the main relay to see if power is going past it. it clicks when i turn the key but i think this is my next component to eliminate to see why this truck wont start.
