Hello I just got a 91 b2600i 4x4 2.6L fuel injected 5 speed manual transmission and the clutch and throw out bearing are new a year ago.
My question is when your idling with your foot off the clutch you hear a knocking noise you push in. The clutch it goes away ive also noticed when you driving it is knocking and you can feel it on the shifter and push in the clutch the knocking goes away ?
i know its not the engine its in the transmission.
Thank you kelly

Could be a broken gear tooth or a synchronizer ring going out or gone. You might be able to pinpoint the location of the noise with a Mechanics stethoscope.....while the engine is idling.
Was the Pilot Bearing changed when the Clutch & Throw Out Bearing were installed? They are usually shot by the time the clutch needs changing.
I’m assuming it was .
it was a friends truck and he payed a shop to in stall the clutch
im trying to figure out what transmission is in it it has a pan on it so im thanking it is the r5mx-d
I’ve call a lot of transmission shops looking to see if parts are available
And they all say not available.
I’m going to drop the cover plate on it and look to see what is broken.
And if it’s a gear or other hard parts any ideas where to look ?
tha n you kelly
There should be some hard parts available.......get on Jim Ellis Online Parts and if you do find a broken or worn part inside the trans, use the parts diagrams to see the partial part number of said part.....scroll down to that partial part number to see the actual part numbers for the parts, and a price for said part. Some parts are available, some are not.......you can then Google the full part numbers to see if another Dealership's Parts Department has said part.
Here is a link to the 4x4 Transmission Case drawing and part numbers.......there are 2 more pages that have the Gearsets & Shafts INSIDE the transmission.
Thank you for all the help meb2000 I pulled the pan off tonight and found these
I didn’t see any gears with pieces out of them.
so looks like a complete tear down and see
