Default 89 b2200 electrical madness

i've been reading this forum for sometime but just subscribed today. Bought this great truck in may 08 and i love it...except for a few little things, mainly an electrical issue that i can't figure out. Teh truck started great for about six weeks, then it would never start at all, the battery was drained every time. I replaced the alternator and things were fine for two weeks then the same problem started but only in wet weather. I've checked the voltage at the battery and get 13.5-14 most of the time but sometimes, llike today (it's raining), i get 8-9.5. I've found a short somewhere off the fuse labelled btn but i can't find out what btn means. Could this be a bad ground? There's no A/C or power steering and this problem really only happens when it's wet out. I'm at a loss.

THe BTN fuse would be for your stop, hazard, tail, interior lights, clock memory, warning buzzer, computer memory, radio memory, and the voltage regulator on the alternator... Keep in mind that with the memory circuits tied to that fuse there will always be a small current draw through it.. Check and see if you have continuity between the connetor for the BTN fuse that does not have battery voltage, and the black white wire that goes to your alternator... You may want to wiggle the harness around when checking this.. Possibly could be a bad connection...
