Default 88 to 93 tranny differs?

i have an 88 2600 4x4 with a bad rearend and a 93 2600i 4x4 with a bad motor and was going to swap the 93 rearend into the 88 but noticed the 93 has an electronic plug on the top of the pumpkin and was wondering what that was? locker, electric freewheel? i think they have the same gearing.

the plug is for the speed sensor for the rear wheel ABS. i believe the gearing is the same as well.
