Default 1995 Mazda B3000 Lost Spark while driving .

I was driving my Usually Always dependable Mazda B3000 Pick Up with the 3.0 Manual .When It just died suddenly. Luckily I was 50yards from my driveway.Never had any issues like that before

It turns over just fine and all my lights and everything work.So I pop off a plug and I am not getting spark there. What can be the reason for the sudden stall like that ?

Yours is really a Ford Ranger. Anyway, check the wires coming from the coil and distributor. Pop off the distributor cap, and check it's inside. It could also be an ignition module issue.

Another way to confirm that it's a spark issue is to spray some aerosol starting fluid into the air cleaner, and try to start, do this several times. If it runs, even for a few seconds, then it's fuel issue, not spark.

Always isolate wheter it's spark or fuel issue, looks like you're on the right track.

I sprayed starting fluid and it wouldnt start or even sputter. I took out plug and had wifey crank it over no spark. How can I tell whether its a coil or a ignition module without buying both 1 at a time and trying it ?Thanks for the response. I really appreciate it alot !!!

Can you post your question at mazdatruckin.com (that site gets more traffic) and on a Ford Ranger site? I'm weak at electronic ignition vehicles.

If yours has a traditional type coil, test for voltage at its positive side when the key is is the "run" position. If not, could be as simple as a fuse (check those).

I think AutoZone might be able to test modules.
