1994 B3000 start up issues
I have a base model b3000 1994, I got a brand new battery, I have replaced the starter and the starter solenoid and it still won't even crank at all. It produces 1 single click when I go to turn it over and nothing happens at all; anybody know what the problem could be?
Funny thought but lest hope he checked to see if he could manually rotate the engine ???
I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to engines; I bought this truck to work on it myself and learn as things go wrong as a cheap and older option. But to answer your question,I trusted a friend who looked over my truck and told me, also a guy from Triple A told me it was "absolutely the starter" turns out they were both wrong. I only spent $40 on the starter and $21 on the solenoid, the battery I can return cause I still have the receipt so I'm not too worried about losing out on $60 for some parts.
Honestly I'm not too familiar with engines and bought this truck to learn on, I didn't even know what that meant until about 5 minutes ago when I looked it up after your reply. I did not manually test it... it only has 119k miles on the engine though so I didn't think it had anything too bad that was wrong with it just hoping for some simple electrical parts outside of the starter/solenoid
Start by getting a service manual. Maybe one like Chilton, Haynes, or Clymer . A factory service manual is not written for DIY so may not be the best to get in your case?
