Default 1990 b2600i built up pressure radiator

1990 B2600i FI 4x4

I just replaced the rings, resurfaced the head and valve seats because the truck overheated and blow the headgasket. I bought as is because of the headgasket problem.

I reassemblies the engine reinstalled in the truck. I've replaced the water pump, thermostat, radiator and radiator cap.

After 5-10 minutes of running it around the block I noticed after turning it off in the driver way that the hose to the thermostat is very tight and hot and that the there is a lot of pressure on the radiator.
Any ideas? Do I need to flush the system? The heater seems to work and I get heat in the cab.

Thanks

How much pressure are you talking about? It should be anywhere from 9lbs to 15lbs depending on the rating of the radiator cap.

It is worth a try to bleed any air remaining in the coolant system. Are both hoses getting hot when the truck reaches operating temperature?

Did you check the block surface for any warp damage? This is unlikely but worth asking.
