1987 B2600 4X4 Manifold ??

Default 1987 B2600 4X4 Manifold ??

I havea exhaust leakat the manifold and I'm trying to get off the heat shield and their is apipe that comes out of the center of it with a 30mm bolt that I cant seem to budge it, what is this pipe? can I cut it? do I need it? It ends at the intake and I have it caped off.

also if anyone has experienced removing the manifold and has any tips, I'm all ears!

I got the pipe off, anyone have any advice caping it off!

That pipe is for the EGR/emissions system. Maybe cut the pipe off short and beat it flat with a hammer and fold it, or hardware store plumbing might fit it.
