Putting engine back together after head gasket job. I have a sensor in hand that is not the crank postion sensor. I think it is the cam postion sensor but can not figure out where it goes. Need picture showing location for cam postion sensor or better yet a picture of the front of the engine with the timing covers removed.

The car is a 1999 626 2.5L. I bagged and tagged most everything but missed this one because I was distracted by other things.

This sensor ties into the harness for the water outlet and crank position sensor.

 

maybe the cam position sensor. if so, it goes in the hole in the valve cover. other than that, i would need to see it in order to give better advice.
