Default Wheel question/ intro

Hello, I'm relatively new to modifing mazdas. My wife has owned quite a few and the last couple of years we've owned a tribby and currently a MPV. Anyway I just sold my pickup and got a 99 626 4cyl.

I have a few questions about some wheels to replace the steelies and hub caps. Will these wheels fit:

I know they will bolt up as the bolt pattern is the same, but I'm more interested in the back spacing, rubbing, and max tire size without issues. Tire size would include what series tire like 40-45-50 and width that would work. I'd like to keep it at 50 if possible so the ride quality is not compromised.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Whats up baloo93, depending on what size rim it is, if it is a 16in then you can fit a 55 series tire, 17in 50 series, 18in 45 series and so on. It looks like you would not have a problem puting a 50 series tire on that rim, but just to be sure let me know what size rim it is.

16", I believe they are from a newer (02?) Protege, though not sure. Were most of the 5 lug Bolt Pattern rims the same Back Spacing?

Yea some of the stock rims are the same, so your not wanting to put aftermarket wheels on there, you just want wheels from a protege? yea it is a 16" and yes it should bolt right on with a 50 series tire or 55 series tire. I just got confused cause i saw the american racing boxes.let me know what you do
