I have a 96 mazda 626 and its gone through a couple of valve cover gaskets over the years. leaks oil enough to eventually degrade the plug wires, etc. technician insists its a major job to change these gaskets (a V6).

How tough a job is it to change the valve cover gaskets. any idea what the dealer time manual suggests for simple gasket remove and replace is? I want to try a better gasket sealant as well to improve the life - any suggestions?
