Hello

My mazda 323 1999 stutters when I accelerate, If I gently press the pedal down it accelerates fine but if I press it harder it starts to stutter badly.

The top of the air filter casing is badly cracked would this be the problem. I have a new one on it way.

Any Ideas ?

 

Let me se if I can help. The first thing to check , would be your plug cables-they might be bad. I'am not saying all of them, but if you replace one might as well do them all. The crack casing would not create this problem, but I would get it fix, due to water might get in there and really mess things up. Also last ,but not least check or replace the fuel filter. Sometimes a simple fuel filter can cuase eratic behaviour in this way. Check for bad, or cracked vacuum hoses...Good Luck, I hope I was able to help...
