[:@]I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH GETTING 323 TO STAYRUNNING INCLUDING PULLING VEHICLE IN GEAR .RAN OUT OF GAS,FUEL COMING OUT GAS FILTER.COIL AND PLUG FIRING[O.K]REMOVED BAT.FOR DAY TO RESET COMPUTER.I GOT IT STARTED AFTER PULLING FOR 10 MIN.ALSO GOT UP TO 70 MPH WITH VERY GINGER UGE OF ACCELERATOR.THEN IT QUIT AND HAD TO BE TOWED HOME 50 MI.OCCASIONALLY POPPING CLUTCH.[WOULD ONLY RUN WITH CLUTH ENGAGED]PLEASE HELP ME FIX CAR FOR WORK

 

It most likely sounds like you have burned up the fuel pump. Electric pumps DO NOT like to be ran dry as fuel acts like a coolant and lubricant for them. It is possible to still get some flow from a fuel line but it not enough. It takes about 38 psi to run the engine. What you are describing is a very lean condition with how you keep it running keeping fuel demand at minimum.

The fuel pump is easy to replace as there is an access cover under the rear seat bottom. Once the access plate is removed you will see the top of the fuel pump sending unit. The pump is built into the sending unit.

 

I HAVE WHAT LOOKS LIKE PLENTY PRESSSURE OUT OF FUEL FILTER.IT ACTUALLY FLOODED OUT TRYING TO START TODAY.WHAT ABOUT TIMING CHAIN SLIPPING ON 323"S.

 

hello to any mechanics ouy there who can give some otrer ideas of things to check! iI ran fuel injected 323 completely out of gas and person actually turned key whilev323 was in gear to try and start.NOTHING ! HELP!!!!!
