I would think a starter is most likely if the battery is charged. I have had this in other cars myself. You will hear a single click every time you attempt to start. The solenoid is engaging but the starter motor is not working. I would also make sure there are no battery cable problems, as this can do the same thing.

There is no way to prolong the death of a starter. When it goes, it goes.

I'd have to disagree with you bkey on ways to prolong the life of a starter. #1 tip : Don't use it and it won't wear out!!!![sm=bangbang.gif]

But seriously, about the only thing that will shorten the life of a starter is extended crank time. If it takes more than 3 seconds to start the car then you will be shortening life considerably. The longer the crank time the harder it is on starter.
