NEED HELP! Female with no idea bout cars!
Ok,
I have a 1990 Mazda 323... and i LOVE it to bits!!
Now, im female and so...i dont know much about cars (no offense to other females out there).
Anyways, the central locking in my car has gone....
The alarm still works fine...but when i go to lock the car using central locking...it wont lock...the door locks just seem to be stuck or something...or like...there's a loose wire connection??
I dont know...
If anyone knows where...is it called the "fuse box"?...i think its called that...if anyone knows where that is in a mazda 323, or knows what the problem might be..please let me know...
My bf says he can fix it, but he can't find the little box thing with all the connected wires for the doors etc....
Sorry, im not very good with car and car terms!!
Cheers guys!

1990 323 did not come with factory alarm (at least in North American market). Need to find out if car came with factory power door locks. Is there a door lock/unlock switch on the drivers door panel and if so does it operate the power locks? The fuse box is located just to the outside of where you left foot would be when sitting in the drivers seat (that is assuming that it is a left hand drive car). Two fuses you will want to check are the 10 Amp 'ROOM' fuse and 30 Amp 'DOOR LOCK' fuses.
Hey,
Thanx for the help..
Well, i dont know if my car's alarm and lock system is the factory one or wether it was put in after it was bought.
The car is second hand and unfortunately i do not know the previous owner of the car. I could ask my mechanic i spose (he's been servicing the car for many years) and maybe he'd know.
And...as for the door lock/unlock switch....i dont think there is one at all on the drivers door panel...
Ill ask my bf to take a look at the fuse box and the two fuses you mentioned and see if he has any idea!
Thanks for the help once again!
Regards,
Jess

The fact that you have a switch on the drivers door would be the indicator of having factory power locks or not. If no switch on door then did not come with power locks from factory, switch on door means that if did.
