Default Mystery Wires (with pics)

Hello all, first post here.
I've got a couple wire ends that need homes. I first noticed them after a headgasket job and unfortunately am unsure if they were like this before.

Mystery 1: appears to be Solid Black w/ Yellow Stripe and tied in with the airflow meter
Mystery 2: appears to be Black w/ Green Stripe & Red Bands and tied with coolant temp wires

It ran fine like this for many months, with an occasional rough idle. It has now progressed to running extremely rough.
Any help would be appreciated - this is driving me crazy.

Sorry, the vehicle wasn't supposed to be a mystery. It's a 1988 323.
