93 Mazda 626 with 4 cyllinder motor and automatic transmission, smoked just a little before oil change. After oil change smokes badly most of the time, however, about 25% of the time, it does not smoke. Any help is appreciated.

that happened to me too. when i did the oil change i spilled some. my smoke went away after driving it. is it smoking from the engine area or the tailpipe?

It's smoking from the tailpipe.

 

If its smoking at start-up, then you have internal engine wear, (piston rings and/or valve guides/stems). Or after driving hard, then letting soak and re-starting. What color is the smoke? Blue-ish is oil; white is usually coolant, condensation, or AT fluid, black is excessive unburnt fuel, grey is usually engine wear (bad).
