Default Mazda 626 Phoenix

Hiya - I've just bought this car and have noticed the fob does not work. I've changed the battery but still no joy. How would I go about getting a replacement for one of these? I have attached a pic for you to see what I am rattling on about.

Thank you

If it's a factory fob, you'd most likely have to find a dealer. If it's aftermarket (it'll say on the back, most likely), you'd have to contact the manufacturer.
Have you checked the fuses in your car? It's possible, depending on the car's wiring, that if a certain fuse is blown, could cause that circuit in the car to not respond to the fob...

Thanks a lot Projex. I think it's probably the fob because when I press the buttons they don't 'feel' like a button if that makes any sense. There's little or no resistance as when you usually press a button. I'll have a look at the fuses cos you never know but I appreciate your reply either way. The local Mazda garage want £160+ for the fob and then a fee on top to 'sync' it with the car. Not sure that the inconvenience of having to open it with a key is worth that amount.

Cheers anyway.

That makes sense. Maybe take the fob apart and play with the buttons on the circuit board. Might get lucky...
I'd have some trouble spending that amount to fix a minor inconvenience as well.
