Default Mazda 323 Valve Stem Seals

hi there, just joined the forum.

i was wondering if someone could give me some information on how much a set of Valve Stem Seals would cost for a 1987 Mazda 323 1.3 8Valve?

also, how difficult would they be to fit? as i get the feeling i would have to have the cylinder head off and in bits

thats a bastard job mate, lots involved, your going to want to buy a full gasket rebuild kit that i think may be around 150-200 dollars retail. plus hours removing and installing the head. plus the cost of getting the head rebuilt.

Also if your valves guides are worn you will need to find new guides, which in NZ is hard. I had to get mine made from similar ones.
I supplied the parts to a engine reconditioner and had him acid dip, skim, and put new valves, guilds and seal in. cost $550. then did everything else myself, took me about 9 hours and I knew what i was doing.

hope that sort of helped
