Default Intake Manifold

Hey everyone, just joined up and trying to get some info. I have an '87 323 with a SOHC 1.6l. I'm looking to upgrade the intake manifold and I cant find anything anywhere. Do any of you know of compatible parts from other cars or where i can find an aftermarket manifold?

Post a picture of the the stock intake manifold. I need to see the inlet and outlet ports?

Tell me what you are trying accomplish by wanting to change the intake manifold?

The top left gasket is the inlet from the throttle body and the bottom is the port gasket to the cylinders. The top right is the throttle body.
I'm trying to upgrade the intake and exhaust system to help the engine breathe better and hopefully squeeze a little more power out of this little thing.

Unless you have a ported head there is no real advantage to increasing the volume or port size of an intake manifold. You could do a little port to head blending but really that's it! Increasing the Throttle body size may have some effect on mid range and top end performance (sacrificing a little off the bottom end) which may be a better choice then messing around with the intake manifold. But you should still do a port blending at the head.

Got it, I was thinking about getting the head ported, but I'm just trying to get everything set up first that way i can try and knock out what I want to do all at once. I'm trying to do the same with headers as well. If I can get the exhaust glowing better that should give me a decent increase in efficiency and power, I've already got a magnaflow exhaust. Do you know where we can find headers for these things?

Actually matching and blend porting the oem cast iron exhaust manifold to the head and gasket used then thermal coating it and then wrapping the complete *exhaust system will yield higher results then with a header. The exception to this would be if you had a custom fabricated header design for your exact RPM range you will be running the engine.
So often most do not do the formulas to see what the CFM is with both the intake and exhaust of the engine they are modding. Most of the time the total CFM flow of OEM components is at the very high end of the engines safe operating range (RED line on the tach.) so careful consideration to what you do will either help or show marginal at best increases with money and labor invested.

*exhaust components including the I.D. should be well considered for best supporting the engine output.

I'll definitely look into it. Thanks for all the advice.

So i have been searching and cannot find any information on this. My wife has an 08 fit sport automatic and it gets poor mileage and has poor power. We have also had to replaced the plugs every 30k due to cyl 4 running hot. I was wondering if the 09 and up upper intake manifold is a direct bolt on and if its design would help with any or all of these issues.

This thread is about improving Performance output (increasing power levels) of an engine

Just an FYI your question is more or less a problem and not an upgrade. I would suggest that you start your own thread on your engine/transmission issues or problems.
