I made a huge screw up! New Eng no fit :(
So I have been being the home mechanic for years and have had
many succesfull projects, but today I have really done it..
My Brother blew his engine in a 2000 626 V6 5 spd due to sudden oil loss
and they wouldn't give him $200 for it.. So I figures I'd take it
and swap the engine like I have done many times before.. Cheap wheels
I figured..
So I patiently wait and find a perfect fit v6 low emissions with similar milage
from a local junk yard.. Finally one comes up and it is a good
runner.. I buy it for $1000 bring it home, new timing belts, water
pump installed and I go to bolt up the fly wheel and install the new
clutch kit.. Oh Ohhhhh the socket on the flywheel won't fit the
crankshaft.. Fu#$K The new engine is from an automatic!!!
I am afraid that I now have no choice but to get rid of the engine
and start over. Has anyone else run into this and maybe there is a
way to get the fly wheel machined, but I doubt it.

OK The panic is over.. I put a puller on the new engine
from the automatic and off popped an adapter plate that
appeared to be part of the crankshaft.. phew....
Too bad Alldata doesn't seem to mention this kind of stuff..
