Not a good thing Natedogg as the HOLD light is the equivalent of the check engine light for your engine. Computer seeing a fault in something and letting you know.

I don't know about your oil light problem, but according to the owners manual (I have a 93) the HOLD light is related to the button on the side of the shift lever. If you are in a lower gear and press in the hold button on the left side of the gear selector, the HOLD light will come on and the transmission will stay in the selected gear. I am assuming that you are referring to the light just to the left of the CRUISE light, correct?
