Hello,I have a 98 626 v-6,50k miles recently car died on me and was found to be a bad fuel pump.After removing the tank and installing new fuel pump,car would not start.By jumping the circuit relay the pump starts,but it sounds like its pumping air not fuel.The gas gauge reads half a tank so there is gas.I know the relay is bad but the can't figure out the sound of air un fuel rail.Any ideas or solutions .the car still doesnt want to start so thats another problem.

 

Take the pump back out and check the hose connections in the pump itself, it may just be recirculating fuel in the tank due to a busted/loose hose.
