It is possible, i've heard, but you have use the transmission for the 2.3. The 2.5 tranny doesn't match the 2.3. You'd need ecu for sure, and i'd bet the wiring harness as well.

Yeah I figured I need it that as well. Thats why am trying to figure out if the engine fits, because my transmission is starting to go and I dont want to buy one if am going to have to buy another one when I swap engines. Anything else that might need to be changed that am missing, besides axles, engine, tranny, harness, ecu that should probably be all I need right.

very likely. as with many swaps, there may be a few extra things encountered on the way. the 626 and Millenia share other engines, so if all that is available, i'd think you're good to go. not sure that'd be cheaper than a tranny rebuild...

Yeah obviously a trans rebuild is cheaper but am not doing that just because the tranny is getting messed up. AM just used to turbocharged cars and I figured that know that the tranny is acting up, I might as well do the whole thing now than rebuilding it and then waste more money in the future to do the swap. I'll keep you guys updated on when I start the build or if I decide not to.

Tranny issues aren't fun, or cheap.
I thought the supercharged 2.3 only came with an automatic transmission, not absolutely sure though.
If you go for it, definitely let us know how it goes. I'd like to hear how it turns out.

I'll definitely keep you guys informed about if I do the swap. I already started doing some research on the engine and tranny and got a couple prices on an engine+tranny I just need to check on the ecu, harness. Then I'll go from there.
By the way there is a 5spd transmission that fits but I'll have to see which one it is. Here is the link for a 5spd conversion on a millenia YouTube - Mazda millenia s 5spd
