Over week ago i posted on stereo install help for 94' 929...got jack for responses. Now Im stuck. I have the face off, and have the 4 spring clips in front good to go...........what the hell else is holding this biatch in. I went from trying to salvage the stereo..to losing temper and trrying to destroy it. Anyway...i cant even get back there to see....cuz i dont want to damage anything on console or interior trying to pry and get access to the back of the console....I see no screws to ttake offf sides......frustrated to say the least.

If you have any info, plz take a moment to respond.

I don't even know what a 929 stereo looks like, do you have pics? Anyway, I was thinking on the newer stereos (well my 97 had it) is these thin little slots about the thickness and size of a thumbnail, and a little removal tool to get the stereo out where you stick in a tiny thin metal tool. Usually these latches will let the stereo come out maybe 2 inches, but then they catch. I know they are on my 2006 mazda 6, so maybe that is what you are looking for. They are on the face of the stereo and really inconspicuous.

 

I take that back my 6 does not have them... I was going to take a picture for you. But they were on my 97 Audi.

It was really popular as anti theft in the 90's though. Just thin little slits that you can fit like a knife blade into. If you don't have them, sorry, I have only removed 3 car stereos in my life and two of the cars were classics so I got no clue.

 

Yo, yes they are Ford pins or sumthin......but im got thosee disabled when i removed the face oofthe stereo. I do have a compartment under my stereo that looks aas though its held in by them...b ut i cant frigginget it out though....lol.....im bout eready to cut tthe stereo into friggin pieces if I dont come up with deffinite info on how to rmove the center console to get to the stereo the correct way so i dont damage anything.
