Default 99 323 tail lights broken

Both my tail lights are not working on my 99 mazda 323. I managed to remove the casing around the lights but it seems as if the tail light bulbs can't be taken out. How is this the case. Is it a case that the bulbs may not be blown and it is another problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The bulbs should pop out from the rear and not the front, there should be an access hatch in the trunk/hatchback area on each side right behind the lights. Check the bulbs then if they are good check the connectors on each light, I will look at my 323 in the morning and see what it looks like on mine and let you know

And welcome to the forums!! Can you please add your vehicle to your signature (look at mine for an example) so we dont have to ask every time your 1st post gets buried. Thanks!!

Hi MazdaTirol

i have managed to remove the bulbs and can replace the brake lights and indicators but it seems to me that the actual tail light itself can't be removed. The seem to be completely enclosed.

P.S. How do you add a signature to your profile. I can't seem to find how to do it. Not having a good night!!

And now I figured out the tail light bit!! I was able to access the tail light after all. I didn't realise it was the in same bulb as the break light. Problem solved.
