I recently bought a 1998 626, and it's a great car except for one problem - the anti-theft alarm goes off randomly for no apparent reason. The only pattern to it is that it tends to go off in the middle of the night, waking up the whole neighborhood. If anyone has anyone diagnostic hints, I'd really like to hear them. Otherwise, can anyone tell me how to permanently disable the alarm system without affecting anything else?

its probably easier to just d/c it.... because they can be pretty retarded somtimes!! does your car have a kill switch or just an alarm ??
