'98 626 Air Conditioning dead

'98 626 Air Conditioning dead
First hot day of the season, pushed the A/C button, but nothing happened. Opened hood: missing the obvious noise from the a/c clutch when the A/C button is pushed. The little light on the button does come on. The A/C fuse looks good. Suggestions? Thanks!
