Default '96 626 CEL plus round 3!

Ok guys, changed the remaining 3 spark plugs this evening. Attempted to clear the codes but the light stayed on. The car seemed to be running fine for about 10 minutes then it started getting "jerky". Went up to Autozone to find out what the codes were and it came up P1402, the guy at Autozone said that it wasn't anything and that it would now pass inspection. So I leave there and Im so excited because it was finally fixed.
So on the way home (about 5 minutes after leaving Autozone) the CEL which had just been on, started blinking again. I was like "noooooooo".
I put it in park when I got home and I noticed the light that says "charge" and it's got like a little battery on it started coming on, very dim at first then slowly getting brighter. Any ideas on this?
Im probably going to take the car back up to Autozone tomorrow morning to check the codes AGAIN----HA! I swear they'll see me pull up and know exactly what I need.
I'll post the pictures like I said before probably tomorrow morning.
This is sooooo frustrating, it's like we get so close and things start looking really good then more things start happening. I guess it's to be expected though.
Thanks in advance for the help.

As for the P1402 code which is the EGR valve, I would suspect it is carboned up and most likely needs replacing. On some occasions it can be removed and cleaned internally to remove carbon build up. The valve is most likely staying stuck open allowing unwanted exhaust gas back into the engine. This can cause a jerky or chugging condition especially at idle.

Here is a pic of the EGR valve where it is located on the engine. Look for "EGR valve position sensor"

I almost forgot the battery light you said, that means the alternator is about to go out. This is an early warning system. As it gets brighter, the less it is charging.

Very much agreed bkey. If the 1402 is still being retained then would at least pull the EGR valve off and see if it is gummed up and give a good cleaning. May need replaced but cleaning is always a good first option. Check and see what running battery voltage is for the charge light. Sounds like the alternator is givng up the ghost though.

if your engine light is blinking that means you have a bad catylitic converter.

I dont think that is correct. From what I have read in many owners manuals a flashing CEL means you have a misfire severe enough to damage your cat converter, doesn't mean its bad, just that your killing it if you keep driving.
