Default 96 626 AIR CONDITIONER

THE AC EXPANSION VALVE AND EVAPORATOR CORE HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND CHARGED. COMPRESSOR WILL NOT COME ON. CAN JUMB VOLTAGE TO COMPRESSOR AND IT WILL COME ON. REPLACED THE AC RELAY IN THE FUSE AND RELAY BOX AND COMPRESSOR STILL DOES NOT COME ON. ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS OR A WIRE SCHEMATIC FOR THE AC SYSTEM. THIS IS A 4 CYLINDER.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Is the outlet temperature from dash vents nice and cold when you jumper a voltage directly to the compressor? Does the condenser fan come on when A/C is turned on normally and just the compressor will not engage? Try putting a jumper wire between the two wires to the Refrigerant pressure switch up by the radiator andsee if things work normally.

Yes, the air gets cold when voltage jumped to the compressor. The condenser fan does not come on with the normal A/C switch. Put a jumper across the Refrigerant pressure switch and nothing come on or changed.

ANY OTHER IDEAS?

THANKS FOR THE INFO

You say you replaced the A/C relay so you should now where it is. Pull the relay and check each pin for voltage. You should have 12 volts to one of the four pins with key off and 12 volts to 2 of the pins with key turned on. This will at least make sure that the 20 amp WIPER fuse and 30A A/C fuse is good.

One thing I would advise to every car own is to purchase a Haynes Manula for their car. It is a BIG help when diagnosing issues and basic to advanced level maintnance and repair work.. And they also contain to vehicles' entire electrical schematics at the back of the book. Go to your local Autozone, O'Riley, or Advance Parts store. It's only like 17 bucks plus tax.

Hope this helps!

There isn't always a Haynes manual available...

The best I can find for my car (a 1987 323 1.6L) is the Chilton manual... which covers 323, 626, 929, GLC, MX-6 and RX-7 for 1978-1989...

And it's not great...

Any suggestions?

Z.

Thanks for the help, still haven't gotten it fixed though. I messed up and took it to a Mazda dealership, they diagnosed the problem to be the compressor and quoted me $1,000.00 for parts and labor. AUH NO!! I can jump voltage to a wire going to the compressor and compressor will stay on as long as I leave voltage to the wire. the passenger side radiator fan does not come on though. I can make the fan come on by closeing the AC RELAY in the fuse box. O YEA, THE MAZDA DEALERSHIP SUCKED OUT MY FREON BECAUSE THE CAR HAS A LEAK SO THEY SAY. BS!! I STILL HAD TO PAY THEM $98.00 FOR DIAGNOSTIC FEE.

seems like something is not sending voltage where it needs to be sent.

I tried to download the manuals and they were all in a foreign language not ENGLISH!

THANK YOU

I also need info on the correct pressure readings on the high side and low side of ac lines. My mechanic had a heart attack and died on me so now i have to become my on mechanic. I have bought my gauges but do not know how to read them or what I am looking for. I need to recharge my system since mazda sucked it dry.

thanx
