Hi New member here with my recently acquired 1995 626 with the wonderful CD4E auto transmission. The car is a fairly high miler 374,000 km (I'm in Canada) and the transmission has issues. I have done work on autos so I am not afraid to get into it. For starters, it most likely has the worn control valve as the shifts are quite hard. The big deal is, when the car is cold and coming to a stop, the transmission will stay in third or OD and the lock up convertor will stay locked up. Of course the car stalls and most times when you re-start it, the convertor lock up has released. So, I plan on getting a replacement valve body and solenoid pack but until I do, can someone tell me which wire controls the lockup solenoid? My plan is to put in a switch on it so I can keep it from locking up until the car is warmed up. Comments and suggestions welcomed, thanks.
Oh and if anyone has a good control valve and solenoid pack for sale, don't be shy.
