I own a 93 mazda 626 with 178k miles, intitialy it woulnt shift pass 3rd gear, 1 day and a bottle of lucas later, now it will not shift pass 1st. I fear changing out tranny fluid after hearing it might cause server problems on an old tranny. Any thoughts as to why the tranny isnt shifting, could it possibly be just old fluid? or maybe a clogged valve? Any tips are appreciated.

Heck if I dont resolve this with a simple fix ill be selling mine as well, so if anyone in the new jersey area is interested in this car, your more then welcome to see it. Cars interior ( leather) and exterior are immaculate, same with the engine. I still hope this shifting problem is an easy fix.
