i have a 93 626 . check engine light is on giving a cam position sensor trouble code when checked by a jumper wire in diagnostic box under hood(according to instructions in Haynes Manual) car idles rough and lacks powerwhen cold but seems mostly ok after warm up.i have put in NEW dist. ,cap ,rotor, wires. plugs, and coolant temp sensor. still same trouble code. when hooked up to code reader it gives code, NO DISTROBUTOR PICKUP. not sure what that means. have tried to reset check eng light with no success.check englight comes on about 10 seconds after startup. can anyony help??

I would check the timing belt to see if it has jumped a tooth. Otherwise the distributor houses everything. They are kinda bad about eating distributors and usually take the catilytic converter with them.
